Flowers

Our flowers are purchased from the United Flower Growers Auction in Burnaby, BC through an Island wholesaler. They arrive fresh from the local growers twice weekly. We purchase only locally- and Canadian-grown flowers, and tropical imports from certified quality growers.

Upon arrival in our flower shop, each stem is inspected and cleaned of lower branches and leaves. This process eliminates bacteria from growing in the water and shortening the life of the flower. The stem bottom is then clipped and dipped in a conditioner to keep the capillaries open and drawing water to each bloom.  The flowers are then immediately placed in clean water in disinfected buckets in the cooler.

We have two large walk-in coolers that are kept at the optimum temperature to keep your flowers fresh and long-lasting!  Some flowers also have additional treatment requirements. Each stem is cared for a minimum of 3 times before it arrives at its final destination as a gift!
